11. Artificial Intelligence and Automated Processing
11.1 AI-Assisted Support. We use an artificial intelligence assistant to help respond to questions submitted through our website chat and other messaging channels. When you send us a message through these channels, the content of your message and the surrounding conversation may be processed by automated systems in order to understand your question and generate a response drawn from our published information. Our AI assistant is identified as an AI assistant when you interact with it.
11.2 Information Processed by Automated Systems. In the course of responding to you, our automated systems may process:
- the content of the messages you send us, and our replies;
- your conversation history with us;
- information you choose to provide during a conversation, such as your name, email address, or the experience you are asking about;
- if you are a registered guest and have been identified to us, limited details relating to your registration, such as the experience you are registered for and its dates; and
- technical information associated with your session, as described in Section 1.2.
11.3 Human Oversight and Your Right to Reach a Person. You may ask to speak with a member of our team at any point in a conversation, and we will connect you. Our team can review, join, or take over any conversation with our AI assistant.
We do not rely on automated processing alone to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. Decisions about registrations, payments, refunds, cancellations, accommodation requests, and eligibility to participate are made by members of our team.
11.4 Service Providers. Our AI-assisted support is provided through Intercom, Inc., which processes conversations on our behalf as our service provider, including through its own artificial intelligence subprocessors. Intercom is bound by contractual obligations to process this information only as directed by us and only for the purpose of providing the service. We do not permit our service providers to use your conversations to train artificial intelligence models.
11.5 Accuracy and Limitations. Responses generated by our AI assistant are drawn from our published materials and may not always be complete or current. Information concerning travel documents, entry requirements, health requirements, pricing, payment schedules, and cancellation or refund terms should always be confirmed with a member of our team, and where applicable with the relevant government authority or your insurer. The tour registration agreement for your booking governs the terms of your registration and controls in the event of any conflict with information provided in a conversation.
11.6 Please Do Not Send Sensitive Information by Chat. Please do not send payment card numbers, passport numbers, government identification numbers, or medical information through our chat or messaging channels. If we need this information, we will direct you to a secure method of providing it. Payment information is handled solely by the payment processors identified in Section 4.
11.7 Retention. Conversations with our AI assistant, including any automated summaries, are retained in accordance with Section 10 and may be reviewed by our team to respond to your inquiry, resolve disputes, and improve the accuracy and quality of our support.
11.8 Your Rights. The rights described in Sections 5, 6, and 7 apply to information processed by our automated systems, including your right to request access to or deletion of that information. If you are located in the European Union or the United Kingdom, this includes the right described in Section 6 not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@inspire.org.
